The important photographer of the late 19th century is presented in his versatile oeuvre at his former place of work, Loschwitz. In addition to views of places, picturesque landscapes and staged genre depictions, Kotzsch's "studies of nature", which range from late Romanticism to astonishingly modern imagery, can also be discovered.
The occasion for the exhibition is the publication of the catalogue raisonné of over 1,000 works by Schirmer/Mosel Verlag. Previously unknown motifs discovered in the course of the research and a special focus on Kotzsch's photographic practice and the distribution of his pictures offer new insights into Kotzsch research.
